Default Illusionary Weaponry Warrior Concept

Edit: Do to the auto-resize, I will list the skills needed: Res Sig, Physical Resistance, Endure Pain, Dolyak Signet, Healing Signet, Inspired Hex, IW, Flurry. The attribute values are Inspiration: 3, Illusion: 12, Strength: 11, and Tactics: 10 (9 + 1)

I was thinking about possibly swapping endure pain or the res sig (I was thinking of replacing the resurrection signet) with an energy stealing spell, such as energy tap, which nets you 10 energy at 3 Inspiration. The equipment needed are: Some kind of Illusionary Focus (I use the Rockmolder), and a preferrably high enchantment mod on your weapon (To reduce the IW downtime). This build also has a no-energy-loss hex removal (it's not completely free, but you need only 5 energy to basically remove a hex, use it, and gain 5 energy back in under a second, so your 5 energy stays on your energy bar. This build works well against warriors, as they can do almost nil damage to you with physical resistance and the dolyak signet on. With IW, and frenzy, you hit them at a good pace at a decent level of damage. Many warriors I take on in the CA begin to run when I start wailing on them (or is that just an inherent trait?) This is just a concept, and one of the main problems
right now is energy management (for me at least).

since you're using it for pvp, i'll comment with a few things.

1 - no cover enchant. a single shatter and your strategy is useless for 40 sec.
2 - no sprint. you'll never catch anyone. with dolyak sig, you're basically snaring yourself.
3 - drop the tanking skills. a lot of people will tell you that warriors are always the last targets. well, that's because it's mostly true. you need to do damage, not tank it.

I am trying to implement defensive skills to take out warriors and rangers, not spell casters.

Why he is using investing in strengh and then using IW is the real question.

I use strength for the skill such as Dolyak Singet, Endure Pain, Etc. Did you even read the skills I posted?

Barely-related thought:

A Chaos Axe w/Illusionary Weaponry seems like a perfect fit, visually! I wish they'd finally give us those Eternal Ghost Swords of Ghostly Awesome or whatever the heck their official name is. ;D

How about maxing illusion and splitting the rest of your points between inspiration and axe mastery.

Then run in with iw (idea is nobody expects this from a warrior) and kill your self a nice ranger. I say ranger because they instinctly target casters so wont be targetting you. Maybe when you're getting low on energy hit ether lord. Take some axe skills and when iw runs out you can still attack well.

just a few thoughts of how it might work.

it's a nice thought, but it isn't so practical. the reason why other warriors "run away" from you isn't because they're afraid of you. it's because you are relatively low on their priority list. they are after your monk, mesmer, necro, or elem. the tanking skills are good against warriors and rangers, but what use are they if you aren't being attacked?

if you want to keep this goal, add in skills that will disable their offense against anyone, not just against you. if an enemy warrior is attacking your poor monk, what use is physical resistance, dolyak sig, and endure pain? also, when you use dolyak sig, you are essentially snaring yourself for a good 15+ sec. you can't kill anyone if you can't catch up to them.

i won't deny that the build is good for tanking against warriors and rangers. but really, how often will a warrior or ranger target you first?

Well, I don't know why, but I get targeted frequently in RA first. (Maybe it's the neon sign I am holding in my hand?)
